The Graceology FAQ’s

We get a lot of questions asked by our potential clients about our services, the experience, and options that we thought we would post them on here every time someone asked something new.  Not a day goes by do I not answer bridal questions either in emails, texts, or personal consultations.  If you have a question you do not see answered here, call me and ask :)

- When did Graceology start and why is it called Graceology?
Graceology was started in early 2005 shortly after the birth of our daughter, Isabella Grace.  Graceology is a derivative her middle name and it is quite unique.  There are hundreds upon hundreds of photographers all over the Atlanta area that use their name as their business.  While it may be a good thing for them, I challenge you to name 5 photography companies that use their first and last names.  Graceology is simple, easy to remember, and has a pure and true anchor behind the name.

- How many weddings have you photographed?
As of writing this, Graceology has photographed over 160 weddings in 7 years.

- Is there a limit on how many weddings you photograph per year?
We do not take more than 30 weddings per year.  On occasion, we will take more if they do not fall on Saturday’s.  Time at home with kids is paramount.

- My mom’s friend says she is a good photographer, I think we will just have her do the photos at the wedding, is that bad?
Photography is an odd industry in the fact that everyone thinks they take great photos.  In fact, some guests at your wedding probably are good photographers that can take a photo on their new SLR camera they got for Christmas.  Taking a good picture and capturing a moment in time and translating that back into a photo is what we do.  Every photo we take is on purpose, we never have an accidental great photo.  Our photography of your wedding is carefully constructed before we even arrive to your venue.  Your photography is an investment, not a purchase.  You want to be able to look back in 30 years and still be amazed at what you see.  BTW, ask Aunt Salley what her ISO, exposure, white balance, shutter speed, and aperture settings were on the last photo she took :)

-You are a little out of our price range, is there any way you can come down on your price?
While we wish we could accommodate every budget, it’s just not possible.  As we said above, it’s an investment, not a purchase.  We do offer discounts for active military and occasionally we do contests where we give away sessions.  I heard a great story from a DJ at a current wedding.  A bride did not book him because he was $1000 above what her budget was.  She got a low cost DJ, had a horrible reception and called him the next day to say she wished she wouldn’t have spent $2500 on cheese at the reception and booked the right DJ.  So if we are a little out of your price range, skimp on the cheese, your guests won’t care :)

- You are a little to cheap, am I missing something?
Thanks for the compliment…I think :)  We are cheap in comparisons to other companies in our market.  We shoot 5 days a week for families, babies, seniors, etc.  Our costs stay low because our overhead is low.  Graceology does not have a $3000 per month studio to charge you extra to pay for.   Nothing is missing and there are no hidden costs.  You get an engagement session, 2 photographers, and all day coverage plus the custom USB drive of all the professionally edited photos in every one of our wedding packages.

- Do you need to eat at our reception?
Unless you want me on the floor from passing out due to lack of energy, yes, we need to eat.  I am ex military and can eat dinner in 4 minutes, I promise, we won’t miss a shot.

-Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we do.  Every card is accepted as well as cash, check, and the occasional bartering deal.

-Can I make changes to your contract?
Our contract is not pages and pages long.  It covers us, it covers you.  No changes can be made or altered to make it sway the balance.

-How long until I get the final disk back from the wedding?
We say 4-6 weeks.  Sometimes a week longer, sometimes a week shorter.  Generally, we have a preview of the top 50 images within 24 hours of your wedding. (The only ones in Atlanta doing that)
