Title: Solitude

I was fortunate enough last year to travel to the Salt Flats of western Utah on the Nevada border. This is the place that land speed records are set, auto commercials are filmed, and where the world ceases to exist for a short period of time. I have been around the globe and I have yet to be in a place that is as magical and surreal as the Salt Flats. Here you will find yourself almost dizzy from the absence of sound. True silence is rare, I’m not talking about the type of silence when you lay down at night, I am talking complete void of sound. This is the place where 2 million years ago, you would have been thousands of feet underwater, surrounded by mountains and dinosaurs on the land. It is truly magical, and is still by far, my most favorite place ever visited on this beautiful Earth. I rolled onto the Salt Flats in my Hummer rental car (don’t tell Avis) and drove 10 miles into the white abyss where instantly, the world disappeared.

The Salt Flats are about 100 miles to the west of Salt Lake City and I got to the flats after a major storm had passed. To my favor, I captured one of my favorite photos I have ever taken. The storm was rolling into Salt Lake City and a rainbow had formed just above the horizon. I found the most lonely piece of petrified grass growing out of the salt covered ground. The rainbow was positioned perfectly in frame, enough for me to capture the salt, the grass, the storm, and the rainbow.

I am printing a limited number of 50 copies of this print. When I first captured it, I was going to be selfish and keep it all to myself, but it is too special of a photo not to share to the world. This photo is printed on a standout surface, ready to hang and at a dimension of 20×24, it will be perfect on any wall in your home or office. I am setting the limit strictly at 50 to ensure the rarity and the quality of this photo. We are keeping number 1 of 50 for our collection, but 2-50 will be available for purchase immediately. Each photo will be numbered and signed in the right hand corner ensuring authenticity and originality.

Pricing is firm at $200 which includes free shipping anywhere in the world. For purchasing, please call Chris @ Graceology – 404.395.9041 or email info@graceology.com

So blessed to be able to able to have photographed where an ocean once was, millions and millions of years ago. It is hard to explain what it feels like out there, but to be literally 10 miles from the closest living organism presents a level of complete euphoria. It is absolute silence, never before in my life have I been to a place where no sound exists. No cars, sirens, crickets, dishwashers or phones ringing. With that, I have officially declared this the most quiet place in the world. Enjoy the photos, a selected number of photos will be printed for purchase, details to come soon.
